Scribbles from The Quill🪶

Bucyrus has a way of turning the unexpected into something memorable.

Sometimes it’s a tradition. Sometimes it’s a festival.

And sometimes… it’s a goat standing on a cow.

That’s exactly what started happening right outside our fence here in Bucyrus. No announcement. No plan. Just goats being goats — and suddenly cars were slowing down, people were laughing, and visitors were pulling over to grab a photo.

If you’ve been around town awhile, you know moments like this are kind of our thing. Community, tradition, and a little bit of whimsy tend to collide here — whether it’s through the Bratwurst Festival or the everyday scenes that make Bucyrus feel welcoming and real. That love for community is something Adam and I live out daily — and something we’re teaching Winston along the way. And sometimes, it shows up in the most unexpected ways.

Instead of letting this moment fade as quickly as it appeared, we decided to lean into it.

If you stumble upon it, you’ll know you’re in the right place. Look for the banner, scan the QR code, and share where you’re from — plus your photo of the goat on a cow. The gallery is growing!

This is grassroots tourism at its finest. Simple. Authentic. Powered by people who love where they live. No polish. No pretense. Just one more reason to slow down, smile, and remember your time here.

And if you did get a photo of the goat on the cow?

We’d love to see it.
